2. Bulk Purchases
Buying in bulk is another great way to save money. If you have a lot of dogs this is great for option, but what if you only have one dog? If you only have one dog, refrigerating or freezing pet food greatly extends its shelf life beyond the expiration date on the bag.
3. Farm & Ranch Stores
Local farm stores and ranch stores generally sell dog food cheaper and in larger bags. This means you get a lot more for the dollar then buying it at a pet store or a grocery store.
4. Co-ops
You may even want to think about joining your local cooperative. These groups use bulk purchasing power to get steep discounts on a wide variety of products for their members.
5. Coupons and Promotions
While many people use coupons, one way you can save even more is to use a coupon when the dog food is already on sale. This can often increase your savings by 50-100%.
