Last time before obedience classes were popular, nearly every dog owner relied on home dog training to get their dog to perform tricks and obey.

Pet owners who wanted a well behaved dog really had no choice but to spend time teaching Fido at home, and had to have the patience, willpower, and desire to do so. Many people learned how to train their dogs from their parents who had owned dogs, while others used instructions found in dog training books.

You can either train your dog through dog obedience classes or conduct home dog training just as your ancestors did. If you are low in budget, conducting home training is a better choice.

To train a dog, you can use a mixture of consistency, praise, and treats as dogs are quite a simple creature. Give them enough of those, and they’ll be doing whatever you want in no time. You can teach them to obey you and to amuse your friends by performing some cute tricks.

The easiest way to conduct dog training is to model the behavior you desire your dog to do. Let’s say you want him to sit on command, then gently place him in a sitting position and say “sit” very firmly. Look into your dog eyes while doing it.

Keep repeating this. Soon, you only need to say ‘sit’ and you will see him do that. When he does it correctly, give him a treat and praise your dog. If your dog did not do it correct, continue to model the sitting position and the command. Your dog will get it eventually.

Different dogs pick up the skills differently. Some require a longer time but some can pick up quite quickly. But sooner or later he will get it.

With home dog training, just be sure to keep praising and giving treats for the first several times your dog does the right thing on command. After a while, you can forego the treats, but be sure to always praise, at least a little. Your dog wants to know he is making you happy.

If your dog ever is badly injured, you’ll want not only good emergency care, but you’ll also want pain killers for dogs given to ease suffering. We all love our dogs so much that we are devastated when they are seriously hurt. For many of us, our dogs are like our children, and we are naturally in shock when they are injured by cars, other dogs, or other situations. Nevertheless, we need to pull ourselves together and make sure they get the best care possible.

While your dog is in anesthetic, you don’t have to worry about your dog’s pain. When your dog wake out of anesthetic, you need to be your dog’s advocate to make sure his or her pain is minimized. Your vetnerian doctor may be great at emergency care and surgery, but not good enough at dog’s pain relief. Pain thresholds in dogs can vary greatly, just as with people. Since dogs may not always able to communicate their pain, it can be hard for even the best vetnerian to get the pain medication at the right dose. You need to be sure that the right dose of pain killers for dogs is being properly administered.

You have the right to ask the vet and his staff about your dog health when your dog is treated in their facility. Ask your Vet how your dog’s pain is being assessed and treated. Ask how much pain medication is being given and how often. Ask your Vet what is the pain killer dose that is given to your Dog when compared to the maximum allowable dose for a dog that is the weight of your dog

If your vet advises that your dog stay at the vet’s facility for the night, you need to ask more questions. Find out if the vet has a staff person who stays with the Pet overnight. If so, ask if that person is qualified to assess your dog’s pain and change the pain medicine dose, if necessary. After emergency treatment, someone should be keeping watch over your dog all night in case there is a setback or a need for more pain medication. If there is no overnight staff to take care your dog, consider taking your dog with you for the night. The vet may not like that idea and try to talk you out of it. However, your dog is better off with you than alone without someone who can give attention to his or her pain.

When our dogs are injured seriously, we are their best advocates. We all have a tendency to be passive with doctors and vets in a crisis. We should be assertive because our dogs can’t tell us about their pain levels. After emergency treatment, we need to make sure that their pain is managed and that they get the right dose of pain killers for dogs.

Now to say I’m a dog trainer and then rant and rave about another dog training programme is only because I thought it was a very enjoyable read and by the end of reading I had nothing more to desire of reading, so if you like knowing everything about dog training this course is a good start and a good beginning.

You probably have heard lots about dog training before but with this course as already mentioned there is little left out if anything at all. This course has made much more of an impression than any other program book or course I’ve bought. I can assure you that it’s a very enjoyable read and would be happy for another person to know exactly what it has to offer.

Crate training a puppy is going to be a very good way to raise a pooch from puppy-hood to old friend. Many people get worried that it might be cruel, but when used for the right reasons, nothing could possibly be further from the truth.
