The worst nightmare of pet lovers shopping online is surely buying expensive goods like luxury pet fashion clothes and then being landed with them, when they’re no longer wanted, because the supplier won’t accept them back.

Fortunately, in this country, retailers are required by law to accept goods returned because of wrong delivery (they sent the wrong ones) or because they are deficient in some say (not of merchantable quality). However, buyers should be aware that they are still required to conform to the suppliers’ terms and conditions for the return of goods, or they could face refusal of acceptance.

The fact is on today’s Internet, suppliers’ Return Policies vary enormously from company to company. And for buyers to stay ahead of the game, they have to know who is offering what. Some suppliers give generous safeguards to buyers. Others do not.

Here is a flavour of the kind of offerings being made at the moment:

All sales are final. No returns are accepted except in the case of wrong delivery and defective goods, and then these must be notified within 7 days of purchase. We’ll do our utmost to make appropriate exchanges, but cannot guarantee this. We do not offer cash refunds, but may offer store credit for future purchases.

Return of goods is accepted for reasons other than wrongly delivered and defective goods provided they are returned within 7 days/14days/30 days of purchase. In these cases exchanges/credit/cash refunds may or may not be offered.

The reader will see from these observations that suppliers offer many variations on the subject of unwanted goods being returned.

It’s highly recommended that buyers shopping on the Net read the site’s Returns Policy very carefully right at the beginning. Or it can cost them dearly later on when they receive their ordered goods, find they no longer want them but can’t return them..

The store with the most generous and businesslike Guarantees and Returns Policies and who don’t appear in any way arrogant is probably a good bet.

It’s not really too hard to identify such a generous retailer. Take a look at FashionMutt. They offer a 45 Day Cash-Refund on high-end dog clothes and luxury formal dog wear.

Dog grooming is important for all pets.

April 4th, 2009 by John Smith

If you have a pet then you will be responsible for taking care of him and one of the most important aspects of health & care is dog grooming. All grooming needs quality dog grooming tools such as, combs, brushes and clippers that can be found at all pet supplies stores.

Professional dog grooming service center can be a good option but can also be very expensive. Also since, it is not something that cannot be done at home given that it is possible if you have the time and the equipment. The first and the foremost thing is that you have to be very patient with your dog all through the dog grooming session and don’t forget to reward him once it is finished so that you don’t face any difficulties the next time.

The second important thing is purchasing the correct pet supplies to make possible grooming at home. The different kinds of pet supplies that you will require for grooming includes: – Bathing accessories: This will mostly include hair dryers, shampoo, conditioner and towels. Clippers: This will consist of pet grooming tools like turbo clippers, clipper kits, combs, trimmers etc. Others: This can include an array of pet grooming tools like nail grinders, Furminator de-shedding tools, Styptic powder, Matbreaker dematting tool, dematting combs, dematting rake, flea comb, area slicker brushes, undercoat rake, etc. Dental toothpaste: this is an often-overlooked necessity when buying pet supplies. Dental problems in cats and dogs are one of the most expensive veterinarian costs during a pet’s life.

Dog grooming is important for all pets but more for dogs with a lot of hair. Dogs like German Shepherds have double coat and experience a lot of hair fall and hence should be groomed regularly. Some of the important parts of the body that need to be cleaned and groomed include the skin and ears and it is a must to clip the nails for dogs.

Cleaning the ears of dogs is an integral part of dog grooming because of the fact that they get a lot of infections through their ears. Dogs with droopy ears are highly susceptible to different types of ear problems and infections caused by ear mites, waxy ears, and fungus. You need to check the ears of your dog once every week and clean them as well. Another important part of dog grooming is clipping nails by using a nail trimmer like Little Pals Nail Trimmer and this is mostly done for dogs, as their nails can grow unusually big. Although they will never hurt you with their nails but are quite capable of scratching you while playing. You need to clip nails once every 3 weeks.

The one thing that most pets hate and dogs even more is bathing. Except for the Retrievers almost all dogs hate taking a bath. But bathing is also an important part of dog grooming. Before you give your pet a nice bath, ensure that you have the necessary pet supplies like shampoo, conditioner etc.

Your Upscale Pup deserves their very own little place of heaven in your home- a luxury bed that will give them lots of sweet dreams.

While choosing for a dog bed, it is important to measure your dog so you can be sure to get a bed that is the right size for your pet. The right way to measure your dog is to measure your dog from nose to the tip of the tail and then measure from the head to the floor. This will give you the approximate length and width you need in a dog bed. If you are looking at a bed with a mattress add at least 12 to 15 inches more to your measurements.

Once you have zeroed the size you have to select from the various styles that are available. To select a bed from the various styles that are available in the market you need to closely observe the sleeping habits of your dog. Where is your dogs favorite resting place? In what position does he sleep in? Does your dog head straight for a soft cushioned spot after a day outdoors? If so he may need a bed with extra support to cushion his joints after a long day at play. Maybe at the end of the day you always find your dog lying on his back on your bed snoozing. If this is the case your pet may like a soft, roomy place to crash like a lounging bed. . If you usually find your dog curled up while sleep your best bet would be a nestling bed as they are soft and plush with higher walls or sides for support help your dog feel safe and protected.

You need to consider a few more things even after you have found the perfect size and style of bed for your dog. Will this bed be used outside? Do you need one for travel? Dog beds come in styles that will stand up to the elements and fold compactly for portability. Next choose what type of filling you want in the bed based on the amount of support your dog needs. Help with choosing a correct dog leash

March 2nd, 2009 by Todd Martin

Which is the right dog leash for your puppy or dog? With so many to choose from, picking a leash for your new puppy or dog can be confusing. There are really only a few things you need to know, and when you know them, selecting a leash for your puppy or dog is really quite simple!

The best general purpose leash is about 4′ to 6′ long and well made. Look for quality stitching, and a material that will not burn or chafe your hands. Leather is excellent quality and very long lasting if cared for properly. I prefer cotton/synthetic webbing, the softer the better. A 4′ leash will not encourage bad habits. If you follow a pulling dog, that dog will learn to pull. There is no need for a ‘training’ collar or reprimands. Any flat collar or harness is fine so long as you are consistent and do not follow a pulling dog. Your dog should ideally walk by your side and not stray too far from that position; a longer leash allows your dog too much freedom.

The fixtures on the end of the leash require being really fine quality. A tough snap-style fixture is finest, as it is effortless to use and normally uncomplicated. If you and your dog spend a lot of time at the beach, they will rust out and get blocked with sand unluckily. I had a leash made with a brass diver’s snap. Sand does not get trapped in the spring and it does not oxidize, though it does not have a well-built spring and has come undone by mishap. I feel it’s most likely better to simply wash out a fine quality snap with fresh water and apply a little water dispersant subsequent to a visit to the beach.

Cotton or synthetic leashes will be required to be washed now and then, which will significantly increase their life. By the same gesture, don’t store them in direct sunlight. The same is right of leather leashes. A periodic rub down with leather preservative is all that a leather leash need.

If you have a dog who enjoys biting at the leash then training can be employed to bring this behavior under control. I favor deliberately teaching a dog to play tug with the leash like Speedway Designer Dog Leash and putting the behavior on cue, that way I develop control over the behavior and can use it as a reward for other behavior.

Make your dog warm and comfortable with winter wear.

December 23rd, 2008 by Todd Martin

As the winter winds start to blow each year as autumn sets in; people go to their closet and pull out their dog sweaters, jackets and coats to ensure that they are at ease as the temperature drops. Your dog deserves the similar kind of treatment hence when you pull out yours, do not forget to pull out your dog’s warm dog clothes as well.

It’s time to get your dog ready for fall and winter weather. I know what’s your thinking…dog clothes? That’s silly! Dogs don’t need clothing. Why do people bother putting clothes on dogs? However, consider this; many of the breeds that we love and cherish were not made to live in the climate and weather we’re used to. Chihuahuas were made for warm Mexico weather, not bitterly cold New York winters. Often times, small dogs have thin coats and higher metabolisms that make them lose heat easier. Even the long haired doggies can’t regulate their body heat as well as larger breeds. If you’re a small dog owner or are thinking about adopting a little doggie, it’s your responsibility to make sure they’re comfortable throughout the fall and winter months.

You should buy a good quality sweater for your dog, this winter season. These dog sweaters come in all shapes, sizes and colors. There are hoodies, pullovers and jacket style sweaters of all kind. The answer is to get one that suits your dog’s requirements and look stylish. Some dogs may require only a sweater or jacket when they’re walking outside where it’s freezing, but some canines get frozen inside as well. Keep in mind, they’re down low where freezing air sinks, so if it feels okay in the house to you your dog may be freezing. Look at your dog, and if he’s shivering terribly or hiding in his bed he may require a sweater inside or some pajamas. Yes, the pajamas. They are very pretty and sensible and they can wear them at night when it’s freezing. They’re designed appropriately with space for toilet use so you don’t have to be worried about messes.

These warm dogs clothing like Blossoms Sweater and Scarf Set come in a variety of popular fabrics. You can get sweaters that are made of fleece, jackets made with micro fiber faux suede as well as knits and standard cotton blends. Currently your best bet to find all of these selections though is online. When you go to the local retail pet stores, if they have any range at all, their prices can be costly. The same also goes for specialty shops. However dog apparel are cheaply available online and also, since they are even delivered right at your door step, you get even more savings.

As the winter sets in this year, do remember your pet dog and make sure that he has an entire variety of warm outfits to keep him relaxed in the cold. Definitely the best part though is that your dog will get more noticed when wearing clothing because they just make a dog attractive; no issue how adorable they were to begin with.
